Thank You.

I wake up every day and the first thing I do is look around and appreciate everything that is good in my life.  Friends, family, work, health, etc, all make it into my daily thanks.

It’s Thanksgiving and today, people will be giving thanks for many things.  I want to take a brief moment to be thankful as well.  I’d like to thank every single person and situation that I’ve come across in my 42 years.  To the girl who broke my heart in the 8th grade, thank you.  To the people who cheered for me, thank you.  To the career I had many sleepless nights for, thank you.  To the company who took a chance on me, thank you.  To my family thank you.  To my friends, thank you.  To the cab driver at three in the morning who still got me home even though I was mumbling, thank you.  To my best friend, thank you.  To my lady, thank you.  To my daughter, thank you. And I could go on and on.

Whether it was good, bad, sad, happy, gut wrenching, minuscule, powerful, impactful, or mundane, thank you.  It’s because of these people and moments that I am the person I am today.  I’m a confident, soon-to-be dad who has experienced life in many ways and is ready to pass these lessons to my daughter.  As I prepare to enjoy my first Thanksgiving in my new place surrounded by those I love, I am thankful for who I am and who my daughter will have as a dad.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

  1. Yes!! The complete embrace of life. In these times especially it’s heartening to think that this daughter will have the full support of a truly good father. My best to you and yours!
